Not All Communities are On Hold
Even though times are tough, it seems that not all age restricted communities are out in the dust or on hold. It seems that through some foresight, or just plain good luck, the Grace Brethern Village in Englewood, Ohio is able to move forward with their expansion.
They will be adding a new 5,000 sq ft wing to this extended care facility that currently has 77 independent living cottages, 4 assisted living units, and 50 nursing beds.
I have a feeling that as our population ages we will be seeing more and more communites going the way of extended care. They will begin to offer not only single family homes for the 55+ crowd, but also other independent living options, assisted care options, as well as full care if needed.
