Wednesday, December 20th, 2006The launch of the website of our partner 55-Alive! was featured prominantly this week on CNBC’s Power Lunch with Dianna Orlick as the MySpace for boomers. Video of the Boomer Nation segment can be viewed at the following link: http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=156645771.
The MySpace segment of 55-Alive! makes up only part of the 55-Alive! community. 55-Alive! features over 2,000 lifestyle articles, as well as video of current news, sports, entertainment and health information (such as video of the latest developments in Type 2 diabetes).
Unlike other websites, 55-Alive! is unique in the users and members control the direction of the website. Thus 55-Alive! is not a one-way source of information, it’s an interactive community designed so that people can meet others with similar interests.
Central to the 55-Alive!’s mission is volunteering and helping out others. 55-Alive! actively promotes a wide variety of volunteer and philanthropic organizations, and encourages members to write about their volunteering efforts.
55-Alive! is completely free.
